From Rob about this image:
Sony a7r2 (accidentally switched to aps-c), 20mm, f1.4, ISO 2500, 10 seconds
This Valentines Day, I woke up early to spend some time with the other love of my life - my milky mistress in the sky << WHOA those are the corniest words I ever wrote! 🤓 This is my first Milky Way photo of 2018 & it was nice to shoot again. Funny how 2 months can feel like a lifetime. I have a little tradition of going back to the same place I shot it first, for the first shot of each year. I’m not sure how much I’ll shoot on Sanibel this year - I’d like to get to other places both in Florida & the country. But I’ll always go to this old dead tree for the first one. A special thanks to @grandprismaticmedia for answering my text at 2am, sick as a dog - on TheraFlu and going out with me anyways. Said he couldn’t miss it! Danny knew you could see the stars on Sanibel before me & brought here in April of 2016. Lastly, thanks to my incredible wife @wtfidk17 for tolerating my doing this, which means she had to be up at 2:00am. Lighting in this shot was accomplished with a simple green camping glowstick around my neck. Here’s to a great 2018 everyone!
