100KM! It was for charity and equality, It required endurance and mental discipline.. but it gave me some memorable scars to remember. Thanks to everyone for the heartful donations, when I reached out to you guys. A small experience which i wanted to share. On this walk I had a partner who joined us from London and all through the trail kept asking me questions about, "Why are the children on the streets at this time of the day"? "Where is the school located i can't spot any ?"
"Are the schools any good for them?"
"Are these roads really taken care of by the government?"
"How can people from these huts have access to water when they are so far off the lake without a road?"
I had no answers for most of these questions. it could be corruption, it could be middle men eating away the pies, it could be people are just surviving or there are just too many people. I even mentioned that you guys(British) were part of this too.
Though it started off as a self ego boosting discipline event, completing these 100KM through the forest trails and villages nearby made me wonder what the people living over there have to go through day in day out with the menial facilities they have and how lucky we are to survive and live the life we had been living.I may not be sure if my contribution will be fully utilized but i do hope someday we can see a change and not wonder!! #oxfamtrailwalker #100km #lonavala #garudmachi #walkathon #walkforequality #oxfam
