Is it brown, and is it boiled? I’ll take two 🍛 // Whenever I go abroad I always want to try the local cuisine. For Lithuania, it’s cepelinai (zeppelins), fried garlic bread (kepta duona), beetroot soup (burokėlių sriuba), chilled borscht (saltibarsciai), fried curd cakes and kibinai. We found a really bizarre little restaurant on the east side of town (you’ll need an Uber) called, Šnekutis. It’s a wooden hut, and very easy to mistake for a lean-to (we did). However, make your way around the side of the building, go inside and take a seat on one of the long wooden benches next to the open fire. We ordered a small plate of almost one of everything off the menu (its cheap at €3-5 for a small dish), and it was all seriously good. Definitely try the cepelinai and fried curd cakes. You’ll find good local draft beers here too.
