How long have you been a prisoner of your own limiting beliefs? A prisoner!?, you might be thinking I’m no prisoner! You’re right not a physical prisoner, but a mental prisoner you may be. It’s all about what you believe and the limits those beliefs have placed on you.
Speaking to people about helping them discover their purpose, I’ve found that it’s the subtle beliefs that are the most powerful prison guard. Here’s an example:
I once asked a guy who I was coaching who’s desire was to become a stand up comic, when I asked him have you ever done open mic? An open mic is a term used for a platform usually at a comedy club on its slow night of the week to give opportunity to up and coming comics to try out their stand up to a live small audience to get their feet wet and break into the business of stand up comedy.
My clients answer was, “No, I’ve never done an open mic” I asked why not? He would say, I’m not ready for that yet!
I asked him how long has he known he wanted to do stand up? He smiled and answered back oh for the last six years!
And out of those six years you have not been ready for an open mic? I asked.
He replied, No, I feel like I want to learn how to write my material first, and study from the greats, to find my style of comedy, then I’ll be ready.
Can you see the excuse he made to stay where he is although he really wants to be better!? What excuse do you have for not moving forward with Your passions ? What prison cell is your beliefs locking you down in to remain the same and never change? STOP MAKING EXCUSES AND JUST DO IT!
It’s time to drop the excuses and simply
