“We can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don't have something better.” ~ C. JoyBell C
There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those. * В жизни каждый может зацепить глаз, но только кто-то особенный может тронуть сердце. Не упустите его. ー Michael Nolan Даёте лайк за самое артистичное фото?) 😃👏🏼
It’s hard to believe this is a lake. It’s hard to believe these waters are still and sometimes reflect back the beauty surrounding it. Life is like that though, occasionally still and full of insight but if we didn’t have moments of wildness and turmoil we would never grow. We would never learn to appreciate the still and quiet moments.
Taking a vacation over Thanksgiving has me so behind this holiday season. It was strange to come home from my travels just a week ago with my mind on beach time when the streets were decorated in red and green. All week I’ve been go-go-go, catching up on work, and laundry while trying to wrap my head around a time and place. This weekend Christmas tunes have been playing non-stop and I spent all day yesterday dressing the house in white lights and jingle bells. I finally feel caught up and it feels so nice to welcome in the season. 🎅🏼🍷🎄 | #ABABlife
A female white-collared manakin, photographed on a trip this fall to the island of Escudo in Panama. I was so absorbed in photographing sloths that I almost didn’t notice this bird sitting right next to me on a mangrove branch. One of the best parts of exploring remote places is the lack of fear many animals have toward people. #bestbirdshots#your_best_birds#birds#wildlife#animals#panama

2 interviews and 1 presentation this week. Finally something less boring. Also love how all these lines go towards the center and they abruptly disappear. Moreover, no matter how much I tried to straighten it, it still feels unstable. I like that as well. Actually there are more things I like about it but too lazy to write them. Anyway. Good photo. Well done! Oh thanks! I am tired.
Last week I went out with the girls to celebrate my birthday at a chic new lounge/restaurant on Long Island. The food was amazing and the decor was gorgeous. Read more on Fashionable Foodie. Link in profile.
The Undressed Buck - He woke me up just before 07:00 and asked me if I want to go hunting with him. I got up and jumped into the truck. He stopped and got a coffee and drove out of town. There was a deer. It was a doe that we saw in a field as the sun was coming up. He asked aloud, to himself, ‘Where is the buck…”’ He spotted it, ‘Right there!’ A buck was standing about 70 yards away. The buck ran a bit after the first shot. He fired again. The buck stopped. He shot again. The buck dropped. He looked at me as soon as the buck went down and said, “Tagged out!” He got his deer for the season. We got the fire burning in the wood-stove and took the buck inside to hang and skin. I like skinning animals. It is fascinating to get in between the hide and a layer of fat above the muscle and pull the skin off of the carcass. The hide is at least 3cm thick and it is wonder deer can stay warm in the winter. He is good at skinning a deer. I am pretty fresh to such work. - The stove was pumping heat when we go to an area inside of the deer called the backstrap. He said it is the most tender part of the deer, so we just threw it on top of the stove and cooked it there... No frying pan or anything...just deer on hot iron. The backstrap was very tasty and tender. There is something beautifully barbaric about looking at an animal as you eat pieces from it. I had been talking through texts to friends from Philadelphia via text. I told them I had to go because I had to to skin a deer. She said, “Well, that’s basically the most Canadian thing anyone’s ever said to me"... ____________________________________________________ - For an unrelated article about revolutions around the planet, try this:

When things get so hectic and busy it's always good to take a moment to step back, breathe, recuperate and then face your battles again. It's not always easy but sometimes necessary ______ #indotravellers #sheisnotlost #womenwhoexplore
