Hi! It has been a while since a challenge update and I don't really have an excuse because I actually had a week off work last week! Overall I'm still tracking well and this week marks half way to the 8 weeks...time certainly does fly.
During my time off, I actually stayed on track with my meals and turned up to classes as well as just laid low and did stuff around the house I don't normally get to do since we both normally lead such busy lives. Oh and I also battled a cold which was not fun!
Overall, aside from fighting the demons in my head telling me to eat the ice cream that I refused to throw away when I cleaned out our fridge/freezer/pantry, my week off went pretty well. AND I even baked and decorated a cake (see last post) and didn't lick my fingers once 😂 - it's a trusted recipe so I knew it tasted alright!
Anyway, I had the 20th of May circled in my calendar for a while now as my bro and sister in law to be celebrated their engagement. It was an awesome night and it was good to see family & friends which I hadn't seen in a few months.
I actually surprised myself that night when I realised two things....and trust me they're not anything spectacular but to me they are little things that count.....1. I had the energy to dance the night away and 2. I kept my heels on ALL NIGHT!
Talk to me 6 months ago and I would have refused to even dance and I would have gotten rid of the heels after 30 mins or just worn flat shoes.
I felt like I was in my early 20's again when I'd go for 3-4 nights in a row night clubbing at Next Blue & Seven (yes I'm that old!)
Anyway what I'm getting at is that I am finding I have more energy these days which is definitely attributed to the change in my lifestyle.
Onwards and upwards from here and here's to feeling younger!
