Who's learned this one the hard way? 🙋🏼♀️
There's something that can happen when you become an EMPATH at such a young age. .
As long as I can remember I have always wanted to help others. I always looked at those less fortunate with sadness, rather than disgust. I always saw others sadness when nobody else did. I've often cried for other peoples pain and suffering. .
These are all SUCH great qualities. Empathy is a learned trait. Its effected by your environment, your beliefs, values, opinions, etc. It is encouraged around you? Do you hear others around you using empathy or do they laugh at the homeless man asking for change?
Do the people around you create a space where you can wonder more than decide who someone is? .
The curse side to Empathy (my Granny always said my heart was going to be a blessing and a CURSE. She was right.). This empathy has (at times) made me naive, ignore my intuition (that gut feeling you get) and the red flags. .
This has brought me to continue to choose TWO different men who were undeserving and uncontrollable. .
This brought me empty friendships with little depth and being ghosted the next day by a best friend literally right after she told me I was the most amazing person (weird right?!)
This has brought me to now question almost everyones intentions and not be able to trust others 🤦🏼♀️. Not good. .
The good thing is, even if you find yourself saying "yes Hanna! This happens to me too!" Theres hope. Listen to your gut. Love yourself enough to know who can be deserving of your energy. Learn more about who and what inspires your happiness. Dont let others use this strength of yours. Use this strength for good and help others. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
