Sorry for being so dormant...been embarking on a cross-country journey in the name of medicine (not as dramatic as it sounds, don’t worry). Anyway....let’s talk about bone broth!
Many days, I find it hard to eat, want to eat, or eat without digestive issues. Many days (at my worst) I revert to olive oil-soaked potatoes to get calories, and easily-digesting carbs. But oila! Bone broth can replace this madness!
It’s high in protein, so if having a hard time eating meat, it’ll keep your muscles from deteriorating, and it’s carb content is nonexistent so it’s a good inflammation food...no, carbs aren’t the devil, not what I’m saying. It’s collagen-high content is greaaaaat for rebuilding zee gut lining (which we’ve discussed that gut permeability is the root of most autoimmune issues), joints, skin, nails, and hair. It’s also a LIQUID, so if you’re on a liquid diet, it’s perfect.
Bone broth is extremely high in L-glutamine (the stomach fixer-upper, I’ll do a post on this later), which you can take via powder, but I think bone broth tastes better 😜
Drink it like coffee (it’s energizing and filling), cook with it, have a cup when you’re on-the-go, stick yourself with an IV and administer it (kidding), but choke it down! Look at making it on your own—it’s quite simple if you own an @instapot, or similar pressure cooker. Saving old bones keeps ya from wasting them. It’s also sold in-store for convenience. @pacificfoods and @epicbar brands are mah favorite (pacific you can buy in bulk at most Costco’s, and it’s low sodium). Any questions????
