So, I thought it'd be fun to watch a "Graduation Day" (1981), one of the never-ending copycats to Friday the 13th. Released by @88_films, this is a nice release, considering the source material couldn't have been too great to begin with. The audio has a buzzing sound in arts, and the video looks good, but is a bit damaged in parts. The extras are great, though - loads of interviews and other bits.
Therer are a few familiar faces: Linnea Quigley, Christopher George, and Vanna White. The acting is not great, and the direction is a bit odd - lots of soft lenses and cuts back and forth. And the (seemingly) 10 minute song at the roller disco by the deliciously bad band is both great and terrible all at once.
The kills are mixed: some great and inventive, a couple off-screen. Linnea does go topless, as expected, so bonus! 😋 It drags at times, to be sure, but the final act turns a bit darker and there's a few moments that made me go: "Eeewww!" So overall, glad I watched it. The budget was obviously limited, so I do feel they did well with the resources they had. If you like early 80s horror films, give this a try - it's pretty good.
