Once upon a time, I fell in love with Guerlain's Lingerie de Peau, which is an atrocious $63. It had 5 stars in Sephora at the time, was my dream foundation, and made my skin look like a supermodel's, so it was worth it to me. Then those fuckers reformulated it right as I finished my first bottle. I'm happy they expanded the shade range, but it pisses me off that they changed the formula, shade names, and colors so I have no idea which one to get. It's basically a whole new foundation with the same name. 🙄
I've hunted for a comparable product for years! To my shock, the Mary Kay Matte Wear Liquid Foundation is practically a dupe for the Guerlain. It's incredible. I've been putting it through the ringer the last 3 weeks, and it's the ONLY foundation that stays on my face without powder or setting spray since my skin flipped from dry to oily. I prefer to set with powder, but no matter what I do, it looks like perfection. It looks great applied with sponge, brush, or fingers. It's held up during a workout and getting snowed on. For the ultimate test, I wore it for 48 hours and it still somehow looked decent!! If you swipe through the unretouched closeups, that was my skin after 7 hrs of wear and 3 hours working in the sunlight in a sweater so I could test how it dealt with being extremely oily and mildly sweaty. As you can see, there's a tiny bit of breakup around my nose, but my skin looks really pretty, even when I'm smiling. You can still see a hint of my acne scar on my chin, but my rosacea, pores, and freckles are perfected. This is exactly what the Guerlain managed to do: make my skin's flaws somehow look beautiful and airbrushed.
In addition, it's formulated with anti-aging peptides, is unscented, and doesn't oxidize. I've also tested this with lots of rich moisturizer on, so I think this would work for those with dry skin who prefer a matte finish. Honestly, I can't think of a single negative thing to say. I even like the packaging, because I can get the exact amount of product I want. And at $22, it's under half the cost of the Guerlain. Grade: A++ If you want to try it out, www.marykay.com/talidaney 😊
