Day14 #30dayswild Today I went to mow a meadow!!! Had a wild day learning how to use the Austrian scythe, a traditional way to cut grass. Great fun and realised it's faster, more eco and better for you than a brush cutter! !
This is a Downlooker Snipe-fly (Rhagio scolopacea) found on a recent visit to Gosling Corner Wood. It is a predator, and its name comes from the fact that it can most often be found resting on tree trunks or fence posts facing downwards looking for prey.
