This past week felt like it lasted forever. So I'm gonna vent and reflect a bit.
It started with Ripley's pulmonary valvuloplasty. It's not as serious as it sounds and she came through great. But it was still stressful and meant we had to spend a night in the hospital. We got to spend a day at home which was great, but Rip was obviously still a little tired from her hospital stay. Follow that up with her first vaccines on Friday which turned into an absolute nightmare and hands down the worst day she's had since she was born. The only way to calm her down was swaddles, laying flat on the couch and nursing. But we made it through.
Now we're visiting her Nana and Pops because my husband had a death in the family. I normally would have gone with, but we feel it's just too early for Ripley to be traveling, especially after the week we just had. I could have made it work at home alone, but I just didn't want to,b especially after the week we just had. Being at Nana and Pops so far has been nice - tons of napping, hanging with dogs and enjoying a new bouncer. And I've got someone to hand the baby off too when I need 5 minutes to eat, use the bathroom or shower. Still not the same without her Dad around though. We'll all be glad when all of this is over and we can enjoy a nice boring week at home.
