Today is #WhyWeWalkWednesday . Kristine lights a gold lantern and walks in memory of her grandfather. You can join her this fall by registering for one of our Illinois Light The Night events. Register today! Link in our bio^^ Here is her story: “The reason I fight cancer is pretty simple. Life.
My grandfather was diagnosed with Leukemia in 1998. I was eight years old and remember going to almost every doctor visit and treatment with him. Later on, I decided to go into nursing so I could help provide for him at home. Overtime, his hospital bills became so much that we were worried we wouldn't be able to provide him with the treatment he needed.
Then LLS came to save the day. They helped lift the financial burden so that we as caretakers could concentrate on easing his pain.
We lost Pop to his battle of Leukemia but we will be forever grateful for the amount of support LLS gave us.
I Light The Night to help find a cure, to help fund families dealing with treatments, high medical bills and housing expenses. We aren’t just looking for a cure, we are looking to maintain life.” #TodayIRemember #LightTheNight #LLS
