Hey everyone, this is @iamasterrdavid taking over @_photograd's instagram for 4 days. I hope you're all enjoying your weekend and this glorious weather in the U.K. or wherever in the world you are right now ☀️😎🌏
The second image I'd like to share is also from the series 'Labyrinth' (first image in the series though #factsonly 😁). This project began two years ago while I was living in Holland. I was going through a really rough time there and went through all kinds of highs, the lows, and everything in between. I was in a dire need to turn things around so I decided to travel around the country. My last stop was in the south of Holland, a town called Maastricht, when I came across this huge derelict building.
I decided to go in and within a matter of minutes, I was wholly consumed by this place. As strange as it may sound, I felt such a strong connection to it, to the darkness, the eerie smell, stillness of the air, and the way parts of the building were lit by tiny streaks of light. In a way, it felt like this place was mirroring my mental state that it had been at that time for weeks. I started photographing not knowing then that it would later turn into a coherent body of work in the form of 'Labyrinth'.
You can read more about this project in an interview I did with @pupilsphere (link in bio 🔗)
