Hiiii :) This picture was taken in Italy, when I was on vacation :) Tomorrow I have the last appointment in the hospital before the surgery (only 24 days left!). We’re going to discuss if I get full anasthesia, or only partial with sleeping pills. They are also going to weigh me, measure my blood pressure and those kind of things. And they are going to tell me that I can’t smoke (and I think also can’t consume alcohol) for the next 3 weeks, because I have to be in a healthy state for the operation. I also got my crutches today. My doctor said I should start practising walking with them a month before the operation so that my arm muscles can grow a little bit now, so that I won’t have sore arms as well as a painful leg then.
This summer has been challenging. Usually, it’s not hard for me to stay positive but with the operation and revalidation coming up, I had some tough moments. I cried a lot more than I do normally, not gonna lie. I haven’t been able to dance, swim, run, or walk without pain. Yesterday, I walked for about 4 hours and my leg was killing me in the evening. I’m done with being in pain every single day. I still don’t know what my plans are for after the summer. because of my knee. I was planning on doubling my bachelor, but I don’t know if I will be able to get to uni on my own. My friends and family are being really supportive, but the idea that they will have to do almost everything for me is hard to swallow. Like every 20 year old, I like to have some me-time and being totally dependent on others isn’t my strongest point, lol. #rant But like everything in life, this too shall pass and things are about to get better soon. 😇💕🌸🙌😌😌😌 So yeah, just wanted to keep you updated :) #acl #acloperation #pcl #pcloperation #meniscus #meniscusoperation #knee #kneeoperation #achterstekruisband #akb #akboperatie #achterstekruisbandoperatie #meniscusoperatie #knie #knieoperatie #herstel #recovery #kneeinjury #anteriorligament #ligaments #operation #kruisband
