I found the time lapse prompt to be one of the best ones from @decadethirty’s daily prompt cycle. A small exercise I love to do.
This is the prompt I use most often. One thought or observation an hour, every hour, for 8 hours. I sometimes do less, sometimes more, I sometimes miss an hour ... I’m not overly precious about it •
The point is, when you think you’ve had a horrible day, looking back at this usually proves you actually had a horrible hour or two. •
And it’s quite funny what pops up in your head when you have to write it down! Initially I tried really hard to sound deep and wise. Now I literally just write what’s happening or what I’m thinking •
