First vinyl post in way too long to commemorate
1) a New Phone/Camera meaning way clearer photos and longer, louder videos, and
2) The addition of one of my all time favorites on colored vinyl to the collection!
That is, of course, Camera Obscura's "Let's Get Out of This Country" on orange wax! This record had, maybe, the fastest impact any has ever had on me. I had to listen to it over and over after the first listen cause the beautiful melodies and diverse instrumentation were too infectious for me to stop! The band's music is Indie Pop heavily inspired by 60's music. It's often very much in the same vain as their Glasgow neighbors, Belle and Sebastian. My favorite track on here is probably "Tears For Affairs", a self-proclaimed "David Lynch" song, that has so much cool guitar work alongside accordion, melodica(?), and various other cowboy balladish elements! I legitimately love just about every other track, but the title track, "Let's Get Out of This Country" is also a great, upbeat rock(ish) moment on the record. And the closer, "Razzle Dazzle Rose", is an anthemic, heavily reverberated conclusion to the album with sweeping strings and horns. I never thought I would get this pressing, limited to 300, so shoutout to @lizardeegz for gifting it to me ❤️! #cameraobscura #letsgetoutofthiscountry #mergerecords #newburycomics #coloredvinyl #vinyl
