When thinking about what photo I wanted to use and what to say, my mind first when to 'perfection'. “It has to be perfect. I have to look super well-travelled, well-spoken, and it has to be eye catching.” And then I thought, “Andrea, that’s dumb. It’s a long shot, but hope for the best, let your images speak for themselves, and pick an image that YOU like.” So here it is! I’m entering the @visitjordan contest! @letsexplore.co @earthfocus #letsexplorejordan #shareyourjordan #earthfocus ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Traveling has always been a passion of mine and I’m really thankful that my parents took me on cool trips when I was younger. Once I finally started traveling alone, I realized how exhilarating it was to slow down, make my own calls, be resourceful in an environment that’s unfamiliar, and ultimately see things through my own lens. I thrive when traveling with people or alone, and as a female traveler, I think it’s super important to tell other people that with the right tools, preparation, and ultimately mindset, traveling solo is awesome and it’s made me someone who I’m really proud of. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’d love to win a chance to go to Jordan for a few different reasons. Photography is a huge part of me, but it’s not my life. My passion in life is to tell stories, love people, and appreciate the world for all it has to offer in everything that I do, and photography gives me that opportunity in a unique way. This trip would be all that and more. Whether that’s experiencing the vibrant city life in Amman, the ever sought-after sandstone cliffs of Petra, or even getting a chance to learn more about the refugee situation in Jordan, it’s always been on my list. I want to visually tell Jordan’s stories and take them back home with me to share. Whether it be the stories of the architecture, the unparalleled food (DUH), the environment, the Jordanian people, or history, I’d be stoked for this chance. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pick me plz. Mom, if I win I’ll totes be safe… PROMISE.
