Yesterday evening I left work a bit earlier than usual and drove to Les Paccots, a small family resort very close to Vevey.
It has been a tradition now for several years that there is no winter without going for a snowshoe hike, to the "Vuipay" farm. And even if it's officially spring, believe me but it was still truly winter up there in the blizzard...
It's a quite easy hike, 2.5 hours and 400m elevation or so.
But it's an incredibly rewarding one, with great landscape views, white meadows, and a truly magical forest where I feel like being back to Sequoia National Park (except the trees aren't that large of course!). The mountains around aren't especially high (Dent de Lys is just above 2000m) but there is a great alpine feeling though.
As you might have noticed, I don't usually write so much text for my pictures, so you can easily figure out how much I love this place. I am so lucky it's sooooo close to home!
