Another great Saturday afternoon workshop gathering at the studio. This time working with introductory alignment principles in hatha yoga.
Our group was comprised largely of beginners and those returning to a yoga practice after a long break. For this reason I am really impressed with the group's efforts, understanding and focus 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
A lot of information was shared! Too much to cover here, but...
We looked at the use of props to support posture and enhance the flow of prana/vitality throughout the body. A sense of internal alignment and was prioritised over 'perfect' external form.
We also discussed the pelvic floor and core and how to recruit them effectively in the yoga practice. Strong foundations and core activation also enhance our internal alignment and stability.
