CALCIUM - Lets talk...... -
Depending on how long you've been vegan for, you may not even have enough hands to count the number of times people have asked you where you get your #protein from. Well, calcium seems to crop up too, and when the dairy industry publishes another study that states how deficient we are in calcium, it's ever so frustrating to have our close influences question us about how we get enough. -
SO... lets set this straight! πŸ€“. -
Cows aren't made of calcium. They don't produce calcium, and they don't consume a large volume of foods that allow them to be completely pumped up with calcium. Where does it come from? CALCIUM is actually a mineral found in soil.. luckily enough, foods like green vegetables, beans, and seeds absorb this so we don't have to eat the soil itself! πŸ‘. -
What's more is that the calcium you're getting from plant-based foods is far more efficient than getting it from dairy products. When you drink a glass of milk, roughly 30% of the calcium is lost through urinary elimination, and only 30% of it is actually absorbable. But 60% of the calcium you get from plant sources is easily absorbable. -
Think, Bok Choy, Kale, Spinach, and Broccoli. You'll be getting more than enough with these foods that are they're not made for anyone or anything else! #calcium

Here's one of our favourite #postworkout meals to completely replenish our bodies are a complete and utter sweaty mess of a workout that you're going to have in this heat! πŸ’ͺ🏽. -
Why should you eat Tofu? -
It's a complete protein, high in calcium and iron. It's also rich in magnesium, selenium and phosphorus. When we cook up a dish with tofu in, we always make sure to squirt some lime on top to help us absorb that iron more easily. - πŸ’ͺ🏽
Why should you eat kidney beans? -
Apart from helping you pass more gas, beans are an incredible source of protein when combined with brown rice like they are here. They're a great source of folate, Fibre and copper too πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ. -
Why should we eat Wholemeal wraps? -
Asides from them being tastier.. our opinion πŸ‘πŸΌ. They're lower in calories, and higher in dietary fibre. So they not only make you feel fuller for longer, but they help you to consume less calories! 😎.

Since England has tropical like heat at the moment, we just had to make some avocado chocolate mousse again πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ. This stuff really tastes the bomb, and using @sunwarriortribe chocolate protein, it has a complete protein, with 16g of protein per serving 😎. This makes you feel like you could be having a #sinday but you're getting nothing but plant goodness and lots of vitamins and minerals.

Wow it's hot today!! Even in the summer this ones a true winner and will never stop being one of Justin and I's favourite dishes. Here's how you can make it: 😎___________________
Serves 4 πŸ‘
- 400g rice noddles - 1 tsp coconut oil - 1 medium white onion - 1 yellow pepper - 1 red pepper - 400g extra firm tofu - 50ml soy sauce - 30ml sesame oil - 40ml Sriracha hot sauce - Dash of Agave nectar - Juice of 1 lime - 2 tsp fresh ginger - Cashew nuts on top
Method πŸ‘___________
Cook the rice noodles following the packets instructions. Then press your Tofu together and drain out all the water. Following this put together your marinate for the tofu using the sauces in the ingredients list. Once complete, cub your Tofu and add it to the bowl of soy sauce mix. Make sure all the tofu gets the marinate on it. Then put your coconut oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Once melted, sweat the onions for 7-8 minutes. Add both peppers. While this is cooking, add your marinated Tofu, with sauce to another frying pan on a high heat. Cook until the tofu has absorbed all the sauce and is browned off on both sides.
Serve the rice, onion mix, tofu, then cashew nuts on top πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ. This is one really delicious post workout meal! #postworkout

Avocado Chocolate Mousse

This isn't just any chocolate mousse that you eat for an occasional treat. This is the kind of chocolate mousse that you can literally eat on a daily basis as a snack! With Avocado's monounsaturated fats, Vegan proteins complete amino acid profile and fibre in the nuts, dates and berries to make this the perfect post-workout shack alternative.
Time - 4 minutes - race us?
Yields - 4 servings
- 2 medium avocados/1 extra large avocado
- 2 scoops vegan chocolate protein powder
- 1 handful of frozen berries
- 1 handful of cashew nuts πŸ•”
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 3 medjool dates
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 large ice cube πŸ•˜
Prepare your avocado and add it to your cup. Then for the protein powder, this is really up to your preference, but we use Sun Warrior's chocolate protein as it tastes really good with this mix. As for everything else, just throw it into a cup, and blender it together. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
