Week 4/18 Interesting bounce-back week after a vacation. I found that when it came to eating my normal meals at home, I was having more trouble finishing them. It seem like pretty close to the same amount of food I had while I was in Texas eating at all those amazing restaurants at the Gaylord Texan, but while I can finish those I was finding it really hard to finish my meals at home. My best guess is that my meals at home are just that much more nutrient-dense. That realization was important to me because it put into perspective just how much more a human body gets out of a more nutrient dense food. Something to think about with your food!
I have to admit that I slacked off on my fitness a little bit this week. As my wife would say, I had a case of the man flu and took it way too easy on my leg day. Guys, you know what I'm talking about. Like if you want to have and easy leg day you might drop from 4 to 5 movements to some like leg extensions and leg curls and call it a day. I did one working set of 10 reps on squats and walked out of the gym. LOL.
To top it off, my wife had a ladies weekend so in my normal style, I delegated my parental responsibilities to the grandparents. My wife enjoyed a fun-filled weekend at a lake while I basked in the glory of a quiet house. :-) Honestly though, it was a little too quiet.
I took advantage of that and skipped one full day of my workout program.
So not the best week when it came to my fitness.
I am even, as far as weight goes, compared to last week. But, my clothes are definitely fitting looser in the midsection and my wife even said "you're getting leaner 😍😍😘😘". (I may have added in the emoticons.) I was able to maintain the weights that I used last week but for one additional set for each movement. I consider that a win as far as maintenance and progress towards preserving muscle mass goes. As a bonus, I think my wife's finally getting into this bodybuilding spouse thing. She actually helped me with my posing tonight. :-)
