There used to be a saying in recent times gone by. It said something like "You should work smart not hard"
While that statement had a deliberate motive, overtime its meaning was lost to itself.
Regrettably, many folks today have fallen prey to that's statements accidental smoke screen.
The general belief is that when you work smart, you don't work hard. But is that really so?
The principle of leverage is that you rely on external inputs to enhance your productivity. Leverage does not shield you from doing the work nonetheless. You have to put in the work first, before leverage amplifies your effort. Without the effort, your leverage is useless.
It suffices to say, that the intention of the ideology of working smart is to engender innovation. Looking for better ways to do the job. If you have a better, more efficient way to do a job, does that shield you from doing the job? No! You still need to do the job. In fact doing the heavy lifting proves that you truly work smart.
Remember, the adjective still carries the word "work"
No matter how easier a job becomes as a result of smart work, you still need to work hard at that job.
The reward for hard work after all is in its fruits. Interestingly, it is the hard work that makes the fruit sweeter.
