Off-season is fun because it’s time to build strength again! 💪🏼 I’m addicted to pull-ups because at one time I was laughed at for my inability to even complete ONE rep. I made it my mission to be able to do pull-ups and I just freaking LOVE them. Here’s a poring I’ve been doing recently.
-
Deadlifts (I use a trap bar because of my shoulder) do 5-7 reps.
And Pull-ups. Also do 5-7 reps.
-
There are two major focus points with this poring.
-
The first is holding the lockout position of the Deadlift for 3 seconds. Focus on squeezing your lats here by pulling “down” on your shoulder blades. Then set her down nice and easy. The trap bar is a beauties lady, treat her as such. Don’t be a dick brad.

Focus point B is in the pull-up. Here, you want to arch your spine, hard. -
Like really hard. Get it in there hard. Umm...where was I 😅.

Right, pull-ups. Anyways, you want to arch your spine so that your body is almost parallel to the ground. From there, squeeze at the top, and again, control yourself down.

A few times of this and you should be smoked :).

My form still needs a bit of work but I am keeping my core tight, my glutes engaged and not breaking my wrists at the top of the movement. It's been a minute since I did a back double bi comparison. The lighting is different but I don't think I look worse. You can tell my right shoulder is elevated in both. My right shoulder is also way stronger than my left. Anyway... Back double is my favorite.

After hitting a 260lbs pr I stopped because I didn’t want to overshoot it, but it felt like I could lift a lot more so I’m looking forward to kill the next session. We all suffer from this, even though we don’t like to admit it. For some people it’s their calves, others, it’s their arms. For me, it’s been my chest.

Luckily, if you train this muscle group correctly, you can turn your worst body part into your best one.

It just takes a little bit of science and a lot of dedication and hard work. But it works.

The biggest reason you have a stubborn body part is probably that you cannot feel it working. You need to ignite that mind-to-muscle connection and feel that muscle working. This takes time and practice, but it's the most important thing you can do.

After that, start training it more frequently. Train it 3-6 times per week. Is this a lot? Yes, but you want it to grow, don't you? What you've been currently doing obviously isn't working, so it's time to try something drastic.

Lastly, you'll need to prioritize training this muscle FIRST in your workout. This is when you're fresh and can put the maximum amount of energy into training it.

The biggest mistake beginning lifters make is adopting advanced
routines meant for bodybuilders. 👉 Even Arnold, the epitome of classic bodybuilding DID not jump
right into high-volume body part splits.
In fact, the program he recommended most often was the
Golden Six Program. 1 Barbell Back Squat:  4x10
2 Wide Grip Barbell Bench Press:  3x10
3 Chin-Up:  3 x Max Reps
4 Behind the Neck Overhead Press:  4x10
5 Barbell Curl:  3x10
6 Bent Knee Sit-Up:  3-4 x Max Reps

If you're a beginner it's easy to get bogged down into training like a pre-contest pro bodybuilder. Don't. You don't have the foundation skills, the drugs, nor the all-in lifestyle to maximize the demands of these workouts. 👉 Take a lesson from history: damn near every legendary physique was built on the foundation of compound, heavy lifting and total body training splits in the beginning.

I may seem unsociable when training but I'm more than likely just extremely focused.🤓

Enjoy exercising but save your chit chat for rest breaks and keep them strict. 💁🏼 Creating friendships at the gym or using it for social purposes is great and I highly encourage it but if you want to get the most out of your sessions stay focused on the overall objective and don't turn it into a tea party. ☕️🤗

Some things I do to enhance focus/ productivity of my sessions: •
1) Wear headphones (They don't even have to be turned on but it'll more than likely discourage people from talking to you) 😂

2) Look over you program before you start so you have exactly what you're going to do in your mind. If you don't have one I would suggest getting one so you aren't walking around aimlessly 🙂

3) Keep an exercise journal with you with notes and weights. This is important for progress in general but will also help keep you on track.

4) Keep your rest breaks strict, use a clock or timer ⏰

5) Have some form of caffeine prior to exercising. ☕️
