Blossom has been one of the most challenging pieces I've completed to date, the other being a 4' x 8' double self portrait. I love being pushed out side my comfort zone, especially with art because it's when I learn the most and grow exponentially. Blossom was crafted with the curiosity of "can I complete an entire painting upside down?" There were moments when I just wanted to flip her over, forget about white flower bushes, or just leave her unfinished & forgotten. I actually left her on the easel for months without working on it because of the frustration and confusion and doubt. I think that's part of the reason why I never sold her, I didn't know how to to put a price on the mental mind blocks I had to overcome to complete her. I can't put a price on her still, I just know she'll be a gift to be cherished by the individual who watched her come to life slowly. Someone who perhaps loves her more than I do and who has never stopped asking for her and said "I want print number 0." Well, patience & persistence pay off.
