By now you all know the story of @treshombres.rum , if not check out our previous posts where we have covered the story of Tres Hombres, Fair Transport as well as reviews of their Porto Bayan Rum from Barbados, Porto Dominicano Rum from the Dominican Republic and Ron Duro de La Palma from the Canary Islands. .
Another 2017 edition from Tres Hombres is Ed.16 Ron Miel La Palmera from the Canary Island. This is a traditional honey rum, we are big fans of honey rum and this one does not disappoint. On the nose you are met with just that, honey and not just any honey, fresh honey. Big bold notes of fresh honey fill the air with a hint cane juice and white pepper. Notes of fresh cane juice and luxurious honey fill the palate and are complimented by a subtle spice. This is the only honey rum that we have tasted where you get the flavour of the honey and the fresh cane juice distillate shining through the blend, which are perfectly balanced, full bodied and compliment one another. Most honey rums are actually liqueurs and have a low ABV but this is bottled at 45%, it may have a high sugar content thanks to the honey, but it does very much taste like rum. This rum is perfect neat after a big meal to help digestion, on the rocks for a refreshing drink on a hot day or mixed with cola to give a deliciously sweet rummy fix. #WeDrinkTresHombresRum
