Chateau de Lascaux is a 45 hectare family-owned vineyard located in the Pic St. Loup area of the Languedoc region. Current winemaker-owner Jean-Benoit Cavalier can trace his family’s involvement in wine on the site back to 1750, with records of his ancestors working the land around Vacquieres existing as far back as 1151. Jean-Benoit himself has been a winemaker here for over twenty years and his experience with his vines and the terroir shows.
The Chateau is perfectly situated amongst the laurel, thyme, rosemary & Aleppo pines of the Garrigue to shelter the vines from the cold winds of the Mistral and Tramontana, at 120 meters above sea level. Hence, he is able to retain the freshness, elegance and diversity of aromas possible from this terroir.
We couldn't be we more proud to place the St. JOHN label on his wines; it is Jean-Benoit's @chateaudelascaux which makes our bag-in-box rouge and this Languedoc Blanc.
Also - have you been to @weinobib yet? After the initial pop-up last year, the brilliantly conceived box wine bar now have a permanent site. It's awesome - and they stock our wine too!
