I'm obsessed with forests ... the grace, tranquillity and beauty that they represent is unmatched. Yet, forests are not an easy subject too photograph, especially when you - like me - strive for simplicity and as abstraction in the images. So sometimes it helps to back of a little and let the reflection in a clear lake do the job :-) This is the wonderful beach forest on the shore of the Eibsee lake in the Bavarian Alps.
May sound crazy, but Taiwan reminded me of Iceland. Sure one's tropical and the other is practically polar, but they're both blessed with beautiful mountains, waterfalls and geothermal features. And being island nations, the people are extremely resourceful. Rice fields planted to the edge of the ocean reminded me of Iceland's hayfield-edged fjords.
