The Sky on Fire
A fiery sunset over the Howgill Fells, seen from Whitbarrow. Located right on the southern border of the national park, Whitbarrow is a rocky limestone escarpment, with 'pavement' not unlike the more famous examples in Yorkshire at places like Ingleborough (visible from here) and Malham. The climb is short but steep, but you're rewarded with 360° views - the central Lakeland Fells to the north west, the Howgills and Dales to the east, and Morecambe Bay to the south - Blackpool Tower was just visible on my visit.
