The Kid Gets Out of the Picture is a collaborative installation by the Los Angeles Design Group (@the_ladg) at @materialsandapplications that playfully revisits the language of Victorian landscape architecture. 19th century garden designers tried to make English landscapes look like pictures by building hills, walls, and structures that composed the perfect perspective if one looked from the right angle. These elements had special names like lumps, clumps, follies and "ha-has." LADG's installation reimagines the landscape by taking those words literally, composing a new garden out of whimsical interpretations. [Photos by Nathaniel Riley]
