This is one of the reasons I became a fan of new construction. A lot of my clients were tired of getting beat out of homes with multiple offers even on homes they would have to go in and make updates to in order to fit their style. With inventory being so low in #DFW, new construction is often a choice.
I have noticed more builders building homes catering to a lower price point such as low to mid 200s up to $300. As a #NewHomeSpecialist, I will tell any buyer that new construction homes aren't perfect by any means. The affordability is based on the land being affordable and to truly get affordable, you will have to look at areas outside of popular areas. Do all of these homes offer all the thrills and frills? No. However, you can add whatever you want to make a home yours! As a homeowner, you'll make trips to Lowes and Home Depot to make the home YOURS. With new construction, find the floorplan that fits your needs and your budget. You can build to create the look you want. TIP: Some builders may not even offer what you want. THERE WILL BE COMPROMISE EVEN WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION. Please re-read that line.
Don't write off perfectly good homes because it isn't the vision you saw. Create it. As a homeowner, you'll still create the look and atmosphere that you want and pay an affordable price still with new construction. Plus, every 4 homes they sell, the prices go up. New construction can increase up to $20K in a year's time. You could pay today's price for a home tomorrow. I can name at least 10 communities under $300K within Collin, Denton, and Dallas counties. #DontSleep
