38th IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy tour to Lodz on August 2. Taube Jewish Heritage Tours was very pleased to take participants of the 38th IAJGS Conference for a day-long memorable journey into time and place through Lodz: The City of Four Cultures.
With the brilliant guidance of Milena Wicepolska, participants had the opportunity to visit the Marek Edelman Center for Dialogue, an institution that promotes the multicultural and historical heritage of Lodz through education, publishing, art projects and commemorative events and The Survivors’ Park commemorating the annihilation of the city’s Jewish Community.
The group then walked through Piotrkowska Street, the heart of Lodz, one of the longest commercial streets in the world, met with members of the Lodz Jewish community and continued to the tour of the former Litzmannstadt (Lodz) Ghetto, the New Jewish Cemetery and the Radegast memorial.
The tour included Manufaktura, the shopping center located in the beautiful brick buildings of the former 19th-century industrial estate of Izrael Poznanski.
Taube Jewish Heritage Tours looks forward to the next tours organized for participants of IAJGS Conference!
