Tabouleh & tapas do a pretty decent job connecting SLPs with physicians and other health care professionals!
Yesterday #ZAPP Potsdam welcomed around 30 guests to exchange latest research outcomes about intensive interval therapy for #aphasia.
Dr. Jenny von Frankenberg explained how she has already been implementing it at ZAPP Berlin. A real success, applying the best existing evidence and letting clients benefit from it!
This inter-professional exchange, promoting the knowledge about new #evidence, is crucial for it to spread further and arrive in practices. Particularly insurance providers will need to be informed and convinced that having a client train every day for several hours will push his rehabilitation tremendously. Especially when compared to the little progress made with the usual 45min a week or no therapy at all in chronic patients.
As a matter of consequence, interval therapy should become the state of the art treatment for post-acute and chronic aphasics, who are able to focus and work hard on their abilities.
So what do we lack? More SLTs!
...to divide their 40 sessions a week between fewer clients without having to let others wait for treatment!
