Innisfree My Palette
Don't you just love it when makeup is fun? I certainly had a lot of fun putting together my own personal palette at Innisfree. I love the idea! Basically, you choose a palette size (3 sizes to choose from), and then customise what you'd like to have in your palette. There were a ton of eye shadows to choose from, blushers, concealers, colour correctors, contours and highlights. The palette is magnetic so you have to individually buy each item, remove it from the individual packaging and click it onto the palette (or just stick to the individual shades. Your choice). I decided to get the large palette, and stick to only choosing eyeshadows (fits 18 colours), since I felt like I had enough of the other stuff individually already. That and also because I ended up liking way too many eyeshadow shades so it became really hard to choose!
The eyeshadows came in 3 types - mattes, shimmers and glitters. There was 100 colour varieties to choose from. I chose a mixture of all 3 types of eyeshadows. The matte and shimmer Shadows were soft and velvet, and to my surprise, well pigmented. Korean brand eyeshadows have a tendency to be too powdery and pale, but these were actually really good! Minimum kickback and I felt that the colours showed up really nicely. Blending was easy The glitter shadows apply better when using a dampened brush, and were also beautifully pigmented with hardly any fallouts.
When you factor in the total price of the palette, it is a costly and you can get a better deal with other ready palettes in the market, but I just loved the idea of being able to choose colours that I would actually use (in ready palettes, there's always a shade or two that you won't always use). Most of all, I felt that this personalised palette was very "me". With the mixture of colours and textures, it would make a great travel companion where I could put together different looks. The large sized palette isn't too huge, so it is convenient for bringing around. I can also change around the colours whenever I feel like it. Great idea, great quality, lots of fun. What's there not to like?
