A week ago, the au pair community on internet was shaking after most of us received an email from the Boies, Schiller and Flexner's lawyers about the current #lawsuit against some au pair's agencies in the US. A class action is going on since 2014 and it has taken another level where au pairs from 2009 to 2015 can join it. For some reasons, this unfortunately has divided the au pair community, some are against a lawsuit that is fight to upgrade our 195,75$ weekly wage (for the future AP) plus the fear to see the J1 AP program being shut down by the Trump Administration, some have joined because they have heard or dealt with really bad situations as an AP and some don't know yet what to do. There are some captions of the live I organized with some special guests on the #EYA Snapchat. Angie, a former French au pair has given her opinion and understands very well the ones that are still hesitating, she's part of. Zack #Kopplin, an American investigator and journalist thinks we should join because the AP program is so broken on many levels, he said. We also learned some good news from him about another lawsuit in Massachusetts.
I will use the platform of #ExpressYourselfAupair to give you informations about that email which is not a spam and please don't hesitate to ask more questions you have about it. #Lawsuit #WageClassAction #Aupair #aupaircommunity #aupairusa
