I see so many 'booty builder' videos on here so I just wanted to give my two cents worth to hopefully help some of you build some strength in your beautiful posteriors!
The second exercise of this video is one of the most wrongly done exercises I ever see. A reverse hyperextension, if done well can be an awesome exercise to target the booty. Sadly, SO many demonstrate this exercise by throwing their legs up into an extreme lumbar extension without control and therefore not creating a disassociation between your hips and spine. This weakens your ability to move through your hips without your lumbar spine kicking in which isn't a happy recipe for spinal health or glutes!
My best advice? Get good at controlled disassociation between hips and spine FIRST before even trying the second exercise. Bird dogs (as shown in the first exercise) are an awesome way of achieving this if cued right. With both exercises it's important to think LONG and imagine your pulling up a zipper on the front of your trousers to avoid excessive lumbar extension. Once you've built strength and confidence in this exercise, then look to transfer that level of control to the second!
