Location: Kuala Betis, Kelantan, Malaysia.
Elevation: 2,171 M (7,123 ft)
Rank: 5th highest peak in Peninsular Malaysia ( G7 mountain )
Mountain Range: Titiwangsa Main Range
Common hiking trail: The journey from Gua Musang Town to start of trail at Pos Rekom is challenging as it requires travelling on an uncovered logging road that extends for almost 40km! For the first 3 hours, hikers usually travel on a 4x4 vehicle, followed by 3 hours hike. On good days, you may be lucky to travel under the shade of the clouds, otherwise you're exposed to the extremes from the hot sun to rainy weather
There are two trails:
1. Via Ulu Sepat Trail (Pos Lelar) : Trans Ulu Sepat~Chamah
2. Via Chamah Trail (Pos Rekom) : to Chamah only / Trans Chamah ~ Ulu Sepat
Based on the above, the campsites are:
1. Trans Ulu Sepat ~ Chamah 6D5N (Pos Lelar - Camp Sungai Leweng - Ulu Sepat Summit - Camp Sungai Leper - Camp Sempadan - Camp Maggi - Camp Peres - Pos Rekom -Camp Tengah - Camp Tongat Ali - Anak Chamah - Chamah Summit -Anak Chamah - Camp Tongat Ali - Camp Tengah - Pos Rekom - 4x4 Pickup Point - Kuala Betis.) 2. Trail to Gunung Chamah is hailed as one of the most challenging hiking route but the area is also known for its untouched beauty. A word of caution: tigers roam the forest here.
