Glute Exercises For Size And Strength 🙏

1️⃣Why do we want to put mass on our asses?
2️⃣How do we put mass on that ass?

Both great questions. First we want to put on mass and strength in our glutes because they are incredibly important to any lower body movement. The ones that stand out are, skwats and deadlifts. .
The issue however is that when it comes to glute isolation movements, they are usually very ineffective and not enough to produce a change in the body and get you stronger. The next issue would be that most glute exercises will load the spine too much. So it can be hard to hit those glutes without put strain on and aggravating your lower back.

1️⃣Glute Bridge - Solid on activating the glutes but it has a limited ROM especially for a smaller person.
2️⃣Barbell Hip Thrust - Greater ROM, solid glute activation.
3️⃣Cable Pull Throughs - Does not load the spine. Great glute contraction.

These movements are great because they mimic the motions used in your main lifts. They reinforce the patterns of hip extension much like in your deadlifts and squats.

Hip Thrusts 2-3 sets, 6-12 reps
Pull Throughs 2-3 sets, 8-15 reps

I’ve kinda been winging my training at this point lol
I fell off my meet prep program because I was pretty close to injuring myself last week. I’m currently following kizen’s powerbuilding program once again, but with my personal percentages and working sets. I tried focusing on a heavy 3x2, following an AMRAP at lighter weight. Squats felt pretty smooth, but my bench was poverty today. I couldn’t do my 3x2 so it just ended up being singles. I honestly don’t know exactly what I’m aiming for for my meet. But one thing for sure is that I want to get the full experience so that my second meet will be super solid and I’ll work twice as hard 💪🏼
SQUAT: 305x3x2➡️275x6(AMRAP)
BENCH: 225x3x1➡️185x7(AMRAP)

HELL YEAHH! Finally hit a PR squat at 180kg (+35kg since last PR). Goal of the year was to squat 160kg and the last PR was 145kg, but god damn I smashed it. I've always wanted to hit 180kg for a single and thought this moment would never come this year. Man it feels so good to achieve one of my set goals and milestones. Welp, guess my squat is bigger than my deadlift now LOL

First time having 350lbs on my back in the last three months and low back pain is almost non existing, feels good to eventually get back in heavy weights again

I've been considering it for a couple months now, but I've finally made up my mind that I'm going to jump head first into this sport and compete in a #USAPL meet soon. So with that said I'm meeting with the owner of a powerlifting gym tomorrow. Hopefully I like the place and I get to train at a more serious gym. Training at a gym with other competitors has to be good for me, right? Even if I'm the smallest guy in the room😅
Anyways, low bar skwats and sumo pulls have been hell for me to get right but something I need to learn for competition. Still not perfect, but leaps and bounds better than they were a month ago. This has been my deload week, so naturally it's a good time to drop weights and work on weak points👌 .

Finally maxing out after trying the new @kizentrainingofficial @silentmikke @barbellbrigade @omarisuf @maxxchewning infinite off season program and I hit a PR on deadlift. Not huge by any stretch of the imagination but 175kg/385lbs at 64kg/ 140lbs body weight, 20y/o
Glad to see my form getting better by the week and I'm really happy with how quick the weight moved.
Now time to possibly try and see how my bench is looking but more so time to recycle and start over.
If you're looking simple and easy to understand powerlifting program, I couldn't recommend this one enough.

Another big Pr today! After a 5x5 with 410 I hit it for a set of 13! That's 3 weeks in a row I hit 13 for my AMRAP! 385 to 410! Let's see what I can get next week!! Had to speed the video up a bit to have it fit. 1.2x speed.

I hate starting over, but you always have to push yourself to achieve new goals under new circumstances. My goal is to hit 285 @185 lb body weight this training cycle. This is 220 5×3. I also have to work on cutting fat while gaining more strength.

Hello world, what's up, happy Thursday! (I hate Thursdays so hope you guys enjoy them more). The program said low weights for relatively high reps today, so I used the opportunity to correct my slightly good morning -like squats. This is one of 3 sets of 8 paused squats at a bit over 55%.

3 x 8 normal squats and bench at 65%, 5 x 3 deadlifts at 65% and 3 sets of single leg hip thrusts with 5kg plate also happened today. I feel like I need a nap. 😣😴
