Some golden advise and experience from @yashwin_fit
Keto diets aren't for everyone. It requires dedication, the ability eat 7 times a day or more and restraint towards foods that can take you out of Ketosis. After being hesitant for several years, I finally decided to give it a go for my contest prep. The results were amazing. The transiton phase is the hardest. Those 2-3 days when your body switches from carbs to fat as the energy source. After that it's pretty smooth sailing. What surprised me was how energetic I felt while on keto.
Here's a sample diet which I used for my recent prep. You'd have to adjust it as per your BMI.
Meal 1: 5 whole eggs, 2 additional egg whites, fiber supplement
Meal 2: 250 gm chicken breast, spinach, handful of wanuts/almonds/macadamia nuts, fish oil supplement
Meal 3: 250 gm fish(salmon or tuna), 1/2 avocado, walnuts/almonds/macadamia nuts
Meal 4: 9 egg whites & two yolks, nuts, 2 tbsp organic coconut oil or avocado oil
Meal 5: 12 egg whites, 1 tbsp organic peanut butter
WORKOUT: BCAA drink during
Meal 6: Whey isolate shake, glutamine, amino supplement.
Meal 7: 250 gm salmon, spinach, cabbage, 1/2 avocado, 2 tbsp organic coconut oil, Walnuts/Almonds/Macadamia nuts, fiber supplememt
That works out to about 300 gm Protein, 150 gm fat, 20-30 gm carbs mostly in the form of fiber). I don't eat red meat but those of you who do can switch chicken or eggs to any red meat of your choice.
