Today's "KidFit" lesson was "Eat a Rainbow Every Day", encouraging kids to eat a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables to fuel their activities and be their healthiest. Did you know?Studies show that 37% of #Houston children ages 9 to 11 have borderline to high cholesterol, and 75% of Houstonians did not eat the minimum recommended amount of fruits and veggies in 2014? Not these kids! And your kids can be healthy too!
Parents, your job is tough. I'm not saying that your kids should never eat a treat now and then, but by setting an example and teaching your kids to eat a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables every day, you'll be setting your kids up for success in more ways than one.
