Every week Tough Talk will share a unique insight into the meaning of an emotion.
Sometimes we feel something, and we don't know how to express what we're feeling. Sometimes we name an emotion but someone else has a different meaning. We hope that by defining & discussing these words we can improve our emotional literacy.
Our first word is shame.
We know this emotion goes deep and much further than any definition could give it justice. At the end of the day, emotions can only be felt, not written. They are personal experiences. We'd love to hear what yours is.
What is shame to you?
What does it feel like?
Do you have a different meaning?
There is no right or wrong. Anything goes, and you would never be judged for your own experience.
