So a Foreign Legion guy sent me a bunch of photos, having served in multiple countries across the world. He had an intense collection and I'm really glad he sent me the stuff he did.
In this he is standing with other legionnaires in a UN mandated mission termed as UNTAC(APRONUC in French). With more than 22000 soldiers and civilians, it was unique mission as UN had taken administration of an independent state(Cambodia), organised elections and even had a friggin' jail!
Although they were not able to dislodge the Khymer Rouge from their weapons they were able to organise elections and bring stability in the region. But Some Cambodians feel Foreign precense caused massive rapes to Cambodian women and was instrumental in rise in AIDS cases in Cambodia.
Thank you man for sharing it, made my day!
