The only credit I can take for using a yoga strap this way - to help us feel a long collar bone and where our shoulders should be - is in bringing the application to #kettlebell practice. I'm sure you've known someone with a rounded upper back with forward pointing shoulders. That postural habit can cause a whole host of problems from early fatigue (breathing dysfunction), to lack of overhead mobility to compromised spinal stabilization. It can also contribute to gluteal amnesia and a posterior pelvic tilt. But one of the biggest challenges we face as coaches is that students are often unaware that they're doing it.
Let's strap into awareness:

1️⃣ 1 (or 2 if you're wider) yoga straps
2️⃣ Put the center at bra/bro level of your back and bring ends under your armpits and then over each respective shoulder
3️⃣ Cross straps, bring them around ribs and fasten. Focus is not just to pull shoulders back but to pull them down.
4️⃣ Tight enough to feel when you roll shoulders forward or lose your TSpine extension. Not so tight your cranking shoulders back and flaring ribs or to stop the scapula from being able to rotate.

Now practice! See if that changes your set up. Work toward not feeling straps at all...meaning you'll have built some strength in this new posture.

Here’s a go-to doubles workout:

Double Swing x 5
Double Clean x 3
Double Squat x 5
*Bonus* Hold the rack 15-30s before setting the bells down!
Rest 1.5 min and repeat 2x

Of course, you’ll want to make sure you keep a strong rack position for those cleans n squats...
