Shoulder Health (part 3)👆🏼

📝These exercises introduce load and stability. This is an important compliment to all the mobility work I posted the last 2 days.

🐑The first exercise is loaded overhead mobility. Being on a swiss ball as opposed to the ground increases the core demand and also forces you to maintain a relatively neutral posture from the chin down. I like this for integrating the full body into overhead movement.
.
🐂The second grouping are called blackburns. It's basically Y's and T's with some extra variance. Grab a pair of 2.5's and go. If you're benching 250+ you should honestly be able to do these with 5's. Get to work kids!
.
⚠️Start with no weight the first time, and try to keep your arms up for a minute. Just freestyle it, 5 reps of each thing and go in a loop. It's tough.
.
🐋Posterior shoulder strength is essential to support your overhead mobility and pressing strength in general. Do those for a month and you'll notice a difference in your shoulder health.

Czuję się bardzo silna. Do tej pory ciężko pracowałam na to co mam. Od tej pory będę pracować jeszcze ciężej. Nie odkładam nic na jutro- poza zbędnym zastanawianiem się i gdybaniem.

First Half Marathon and also my longest ever run completed. .

I think i wasn't in my right mind when I signed up for it and I couldn't comprehend the enormity of the distance since then, but I started losing my mind the day before thinking about the distance. .
.
I honestly didn't think of my timing or my splits or anything when I was running, I was just enjoying the run. It was raining and I've never ran in the rain before. So I was all in love with nature and ecstatic with the runner's high. .
.
The above phase lasted till the 12 km mark and post that, I was dying at every single step and by 18th km I was dead , knees were killing me and calves didn't exist. I somehow managed to complete the last 3km with a decent pace of 6 and ended up overcoming my biggest fear. .
.
It was fantastic only because it was raining , if it weren't for the constant shower I would have been still running somewhere in the by lanes of BKC. .
.
Also you need somebody to push you mentally , somebody to look up to and think about when you wanna give up. @nehatahiliani19 Was my constant motivation as she herself completed her first 21 too. I thought about all the NRC Pacers , NTC coaches and others when I needed to push harder , it all worked well. Very well. .
.
Also thank you @nike @niketraining And @nikerunning , without you I'd be still one of those guys in the gym hating up on running for no reason.

Here are 3 Kettlebell single leg exercises with core/stability benefits you can include in your training.🙌 1. KB reload step ups into knee drive 💥 - KB on opposite shoulder to leg stepping up, maintain strong, big chest posture and square shoulders, hold high knee drive position for 1-2 seconds before reloading movement.

2. KB Unilateral walking lunge 👊- hold KB's as shown with the overhead KB the same size as the working leg. Emphasise full hip extension/lock out as you complete each rep.

3. KB defecit reverse lunges with knee drive 🔥 - perform reverse lunges off a step with KB on shoulder of non lunging leg. Keep hips open and chest/shoulders square not allowing knee drive leg to cross the midline during the movement.

Top right, me 7 years ago..... Unrecognisable I think. Left hand side, 3 years ago almost, where I want to get back to and the bottom pics are me a week ago. Today I'm motivating myself to get back to the way I was in those two pics. I want to lose 14lbs and that is definitely achievable esp since I've given up the gym. I had a tight little six pack then and although it's not gone I want more definition without the bulky quads and ass which is what every woman wants today, typically after I lost mine 😂😂 cycling, walking and obviously workouts with my buddy @jillianmichaels should help me achieve this, along with some running maybe. I want to look like the pic where I'm wearing the black dress by Christmas. That pic was taken Christmas 2014. I need to get a starting weight, unsure right now and hopefully my goal will be reached. A short clip from last Thursday’s session. Donk’s first warm up set on the safety squat bar which works your legs in a different way than do normal squats. Donk is a teacher who now lives in Cyprus and was one of our core garage gorilla team before he decided to emigrate. Every year he comes home for a few months summer holiday and always trains with us for the whole 8 weeks. He previously was teaching in Egypt a true spirit working all over this blue planet teaching kids.
