I choose to eat what's called a "Ketogenic diet" for the health, protection, & healing of my brain.

What's that mean?
.
In short, ketosis is when your body begins to breakdown fats to make "ketones" (rocket brain fuel) once its depleted its glycogen (stored sugar reserves in the liver & muscles).
.
I primarily consume healthy fats as my main source of calories, high nutritionally dense above ground veggies, & fatty protein in moderate amounts to maintain my muscle mass as a very active athlete.
.
The next part is cutting out insulin triggering &/or toxic foods like grains, sugars, alcohol, refined vegetable oils, & high starchy foods.
.
Benefits-when you properly adjust or transition to a keto-adapted or fat-adapted metabolism:
👉🏼Reduced rate of cell division, oxidative stress, inflammation, risk of disease, hormonal imbalances, blood sugar and insulin spikes, and fat storage.
👉🏼increased cognitive function, energy, sleep, digestion, & most importantly, you can actually heal the brain & prevent damage from occurring to it.

I've completed my 1st week of training for my 15k. 9 miles ran this week. My plan is 3 running days and 3 strength training days per week. Hard to believe at the end of this I'll be running 9.3 miles all at once. I'm surely not going to be the fastest runner, but I dont really care, as long as I finish!

Being keto-adapted I continue
to see my body changing in a
rapid manner! When I was a vegan,
and/or doing bodybuilding diets-
which were so restricted- and I was
unhappy and constantly hungry.
I would see minimal changes over
a long period of time 😫!
