Man, that's 3 losses against the Phillies. The Phillies! Alex Wood gave the Dodgers a quality start, but the bullpen decided it wanted to blow the game. His final line: 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. In the top of the 3rd, Chris Taylor hit a Solo HR (21) to make it 2-1 Phillies! In the top of the 7th with the Dodgers down 2-1, Kiké Hernandez hit an RBI (25) double to tie the game 2-2! Later on, Cody Bellinger hit an 2-RBI (89) double to make it 4-2 Dodgers! The offense did score 5 runs, but they also went 2-15 with RISP which is terrible and they need to get better in those situations if they want to have success in the postseason *cough* drop a bunt. Unfortunately (not surprisingly), the lead didn't hold as Roberts pushed all the wrong buttons again to continue his tryouts. He brought in Ross Stripling to pitch the 7th, and Stripling gave up 2 HRs and a walk to allow 3 runs as he only got 1 out. Watson did his job and got out of the inning. In the 8th inning, Avilan pitched and gave up 2 runs (1 earned) by walking two batters to give the Phillies the lead 7-5. Morrow, who should've started the inning, gave up a hit but it's not his fault when you bring him in a bases-loaded jam with only 1 out. He eventually got out of the inning to limit the damage done by Avilan. That's how the story goes. Dodgers SP was good, and Roberts' decision making blows up in his face again. Always finding a new way to lose the game even with Baez unavailable for the next few days. To be honest, Stripling and Avilan should not be on the postseason roster because you simply don't need them. Ryu or Maeda will take Stripling's place for long relief, and you already have Watson and Cingrani who are both hot right now to replace Avilan (you still have Paredes as well and Morrow who have tremendous numbers against lefties). The Dodgers will look to avoid a sweep by the Phillies, no I'm not mistaken, tomorrow. Go Dodgers!
