The fate of Giant Sequoia National Monument is in peril.
Your Kern County Board of Supervisors may try to shrink the size of the Giant Sequoia National Monument and roll back protections, at tomorrow's board meeting on June 27.
Local communities depend on the protection of Giant Sequoia National Monument for jobs. And the size, protection, and designation of Giant Sequoia matters. The national monument contains the majority of the world's Giant Sequoias, as well as meadows and thousands of miles of streams where folks from the Valley recreate.
Call 1-347-690-0546 before it's too late -- Tell your Supervisor that Kern County should reject any resolution that supports rolling back protections on Giant Sequoia National Monument.
When you call, the operator will ask for your address to help direct you to your County Supervisor's office. You can say something like this: "I'm calling as a constituent to let my County Supervisor know I oppose any resolution that supports rolling back protections on Giant Sequoia National Monument."
