Cause and effect is such a fun skill for babies and toddlers to practice. They love knocking things over, but building and balancing can be a challenge, especially for little miss who is 17 months old. She doesn’t want to build, she wants to destroy. This activity required serious concentration, control, and visual processing. Instead of simply pushing it over, which most babies have mastered since 9 months old, I encouraged M to use her trusty dollar store squirt bottle. This required her to aim and squeeze, which develops her hand strength and made this activity last a little longer. Amen! 🙌🏻
