A great nonscale victory. When I first started this journey, I had a difficult time getting in and out of my car. At my worst, my belly was touching the steering wheel (that's even with my seat all the way back and steering wheel all the way up.) Up until that point, my life was "crap it doesn't fit anymore, now I have to go shopping and get a bigger one" (a mentality I got from childhood.) I've always been bigger and never got to shop in popular clothing stores. There are only a few clothing stores that had my size here in town. At age 27, I was up to the largest size in those plus size stores when I started noticing my belly rubbing up against the steering wheel. In that moment, I realized something HAD to change. I wasn't only growing out of my clothing but now I was out growing my car. How crazy would it be for me to go buy a new vehicle because I no longer fit in my old one!? I realized the mentality I had always had should have been limited to a child growing up, not a woman. I honestly didn't think I had that big of a problem up until that point. Those two tough things happening simultaneously, saved my life. It's when I decided I was worth it. So this, to me, is a little more than just a picture of a steering wheel.
