Received a handmade, hand delivered cupcake this morning. A thank you from BNI Aurum for my 3 term service as Founding President of that chapter. Although it saddens me to have to leave the chapter due to pressing commitments, I've learned and gained so much during my time in BNI.
What are the 3 things that I gained from my time in BNI?
1. Respect and humility. You never know who someone knows and even the youngest or the newest entrepreneur may know someone who can change your life. Only by respecting everyone can you fully gain access to such life changing opportunities.
2. The power of leverage. Working together is something often said but rarely done. However, through the power of a strong network that is committed to work together (the key word here is committed), you are able to achieve 10x to 50x more than what you normally can.
3. The ability to win by being selfless. Oftentimes, we believe wholeheartedly that it's a dog eat dog world. But people forget that business is made up of people. With hopes, dreams and ambition. And people rarely forget those that help them get to where they want to go. By focusing on helping each other win, you create a positive spiral of winning by helping others. There is no greater satisfaction.
Thank you to my close friends in BNI Aurum and the system, I have gained the gift called Givers Gain and I have embodied what it means to Give without Remembering and Receive without Forgetting. It was my pleasure to be a servant leader to a Hall of Fame chapter and I am confident that the current committee can bring it to greater heights.
